I realise that DBS is a commercial company and I can understand their position. But it does seem a great shame.

A small outlay, surely, for a considerably larger regional benefit.

Far too much heritage has been lost in this country, this important asset to the west country brings charter trains and tourism to the west and enables locomotives to be turned. It inadvertantly is an income generator bringing money to the region

Given the renewed interest in heritage railways after the Mallard 75 celebration, it is shortsighted indeed to remove this crucial piece of infrastructure

No turntable = No steam. And tourism is one of if not the main source of income in Cornwall.

This turntable is an important piece of steam herritage, it needs to stay if we are to keep Steam trains running on the Cornish mainline track. If all the trains have to turn around at Plymouth the cost implecations will stop steam trains running another part of our British heritage taken away. Just like all the old lines and stations. Please keep this turn table in opereation.

Agreed. It needs a FB Group and Friends of the St Blazey Turntable - Would Network Rail agree and support a Friends Work Group

A significant part of the rural economy could be affected by short-sighted decisions at this stage. Please do the decent thing and save this turntable!
