It would be a huge loss for not just steam travel to the area but surely the local community and tourist economy. Why does it need to shut?

Too valuable a piece of Cornish railway heritage to let go of.

Network Rail have a legal obligation to maintain open access to the existing rail system. By not maintaining the access they are breaking their legal obligations.

I'll be studying in Cornwall for the next three years and I think it would be a shame for such a valuable asset to mainline steam to be left, not just for my sake of still being able to enjoy the sight of Steam on the Mainline, but also people of all other generations who live or holiday in Cornwall.

would be a shame to lose another Turntable that was still in use, and brings in a lot of tourists to the area.

This is an important asset not only for use by Heritage Railways but also for tourism in the South West.

The trouble is these days EVERYTHING is about Money !!!! This should NOT be !!!! I would suggest that this operator has enough in its coffers to offer a VERY size-able donation towards the reclamation of this great asset...and then it should be placed under the working auspices of the Bodmin & Wenford.... I for One will offer a £25.00 donation towards the restoration fund if one is started..... and I would suggest to all of you my friends to to give towards this important piece of history to be retained here and for the people & our tourist friends that visit the Duchy too.....
