As a school nurse, our positions are so hard to fill that it makes no sense to be on a yearly contract. This district should value the SSPs and the work we do. My family has four generations of District 11 graduates which is something I have been proud of and glad to work in such a supporting atmosphere, but this has all changed my viewpoint.

No-one works harder or is more necessary in the life of elementary school children than their teachers and Special Service Providers. D11 has a hard enough time recruiting good people. Not protecting the SSP would assure the district's failure.

I have always been proud to say I live in and sent my kids to D11 schools. This is a travesty and will have far reaching consequences for public education in the city of Colorado Springs. No longer will it be a district with its eye on the future.

I've been in the district for 20 years believing I was valued by the district...have been told I am valued...read about the needs locally and nationally for my professional services for kids.as being important. This action to make us essentially INR totally reverses d11's commitment to helping kids....or I've been lied to over the years.
