SPS: Since these new times were approved in January has anyone analyzed the afternoon absentee data for High School students? Two sports seasons equals a lot of missed classes for my daughter and sometimes having to choose to miss meets for classes she can't make up!!

I am pleased with this year's later start times made for sound reasons. Adding 20 mins to the day if fine, although not being well utilized (7th period!), but the dismissal time is too late for too many students. Having HS students miss 3 periods/day for every game they attend is ludicrous and this decision, once again, is being made for cost/logistics reasons not educational outcomes. Figure out a way to make 2 tiers work without pitting 'losing' student populations and their families against one another. Find the solution that benefits all, not at the direct expense of others.

The proposed later time will seriously impact families and kids- having no daylight after school in the winter is NOT good for kids' mental health- I've seen this firsthand.

Too much school will be missed by kids leaving school many periods early for sporting events.

I am against the proposed new start and end times for High School students. The end time is too late for participating in after school sports. Students that play after school sports will have to miss more classes when they have games with non-district teams.

Interferes with after school jobs, volunteer efforts, sports. Combined with the later start time it is a serious inconvenience.

Do you want to kill us? Are you fulfilling a political agenda or "thinking about the kids?" Why are you in a position of authority and abusing it? If getting what you wanted meant you have to scream the loudest, then you're about to hear me. My name is Celine Chong, and youre going to remember it.

3:50 is too late for many kids to have part-time jobs or participate in after school activities and causes more missed class time for athletes.

The end time appears to be too late to allow after school activities and could result in missing school for these.

What are they thinking? 15 minute later start time and a 35 minute delayed end time? The only way I'd agree with this is if we get an extra 15-20 minutes for lunch.

Track meets (and other sport games) start at 2:45 whether school is over or not. Later start times means kids will miss more school for meets and games every week!

I go to Ingraham High School. We have over 700 kids participating in after school sports. The later time would be terrible for us. Tried and hungry athletes equals injured athletes and ill-preforming students

Way to late. And leave Wednesday alone! Changing the time.will have disastrous consequences for coaching staff and student athletes!
