This bell change has made my schedule even worse after the 3:15 end time, and the new bell times will make it so much worse for sports and extracurricular activities

The later stop/start time will adversely affect both academics and extra curricular activities. Please reconsider the 3:50 stop time for high school.

Please do not move the start time again. Spring sports participants would miss so much school, just to do something they love and is encouraged. DO NOT CHANGE START TIMES!!!

The bell change is stupid because nobody will have time after school to do anything and it's dumb to change something you already just made a change to

These new bell times make no sense for kids or families.

3:50 is too late. It ruins extra-curriculars and sports.

This new start time will just make life more stressful and make it very hard to live a life away from school. It won't even give students like me more sleep because we will stay up later

My child is a high school athlete and also has a learning difference -- ADHD. She absolutely cannot miss class and be expected to keep up. So, is our alternative to tell her she cannot participate in any sport? That doesn't seem balanced or fair. There's enough pressure without missing class in terms of assignments, quizzes, projects, etc. Given her learning difference, it already takes her longer to complete tasks. Missing class only makes this worse. Additionally, most teachers award participation points which count towards the final grade. Missing a class (for any reason) results in lost participation points, which aren't able to be made up -- must be present to earn.

If school end times are going to be extended the extra curricular sporting events need to be moved out as well. Kids can't be missing more school. They are getting buried. Our daughter missed her AP English class (6th period) for almost 2.5 straight weeks for softball games. She is still trying to dig herself out. Games need to be moved out to early evenings.

The time change proposal will negatively affect academics and/or extra curricular activities. This is a lose-lose for students.

The end times will significantly affect my student after school activities. Especially since his after school activities is not in Seattle. Average drive to his after school activities is about 1 hr drive.

My child is a high school student athlete. With the other activities she has going on, the proposed start/end times will make it impossible for her to continue with school sports.

This proposed change is not in the best interest of high school students. Students who participate in extra curricular activities will get even LESS sleep as programs seek to compensate for loss of after school time by starting early in the morning. This takes away from valuable academic preparation time in the morning. That, combined with the need for early dismissals to get to after school events will cause great harm academically.

3:50 dismissal is too late. My daughter is a student athlete and she hates to miss class.

There is so much evidence showing how good it is for students to get involved with school activities. This very late dismissal discourages students from getting involved in extra-curriculars for all the reasons others have already listed. Not in the best interests of students!

Students need more, not less, time for studying, school sports, community volunteering, social commitments and family.

Moving the start time even later makes the after school schedule impossible for students and families. The 7:50 start time worked fine!

This would force student athletes to miss too much school! They would have to leave early several days each week for both high school and club sports.
Would be a disaster for some of student athletes
