Between homework, the sports credits I need next year, and getting a job (which is absolutely necessary), this schedule will eliminate time out of my weekdays to spend with my family or building a healthy social life. The current start time is great and I have to get to school 30-40 minutes early and possibly more next year due to limited parking anyway, so the extra 15 minutes in the morning doesn't really help anyway and I know most students feel the same way.

this doesn't help anyone. sport teams will have to leave way earlier and you will miss more classes this is just gunna cause more conflict between teachers and students. also some fields don't have lights so where are fall sports teams going to be able to practice?

The proposed time is too late for student athletes. It will adversely affect field times and availability. It will also mean that athletes have to miss additional school time for away games and all students will have less time after school time to study and complete homework.

if they change the time we'll have even less free time as students, which wouldn't be good

The schedule needs to stay the same. Stop messing with it and let students have some sense of normalcy and consistency. Every year there's a new rationale that supposedly justifies a revised school day window. News flash: it doesn't!

Am for a two-tiered bus system but not at the expense of a late high school start time. 9:00 start is far too late and not in alignment with many "real world" work start times. Additionally, after school work, sports, and homework activities will be affected. Sports and other school activities often require leaving school early to make a 4:00 or 5:00 game/competition and therefore students will miss important classroom instruction.

This is a terrible idea; it's bad for students and bad for families.

The later school start for high school has not been an improvement for our children. Many more classes were missed due to external activities (soccer and track) that started at the same time (or earlier--soccer) requiring leaving classes early to get to fields on time.
Honestly, mornings were worse, too, with issues arising later in the morning (when the children were off to school) after both parents had already headed to work. Often those issues would have been avoided or more easily handled with an earlier start time.

I have three highschool students who all do extracurricular activities after school, athletics, clubs and work. If their school day ends at 3:50pm they will be behind academically due to missing 3 class periods on game days (that's at least 6 classes per week). Missing a class like AP US History or Calculus twice every week is unacceptable. In addition, it will be impossible for kids to hold a job in the evenings and finish their school work. Please vote NO on the two-tiered bus system.

My current Junior did not feel any advantage to having a later start and only felt the later finish was difficult with sports. An even later start and finish would make life more difficult for high school students. Please do not change the start times.

I have had to go to school at 9:30 for the past 3 years, and would make my life better if we could have an earlier start.

Please! Don't start any later! The kids already miss so much school for games plus it gets very challenging to get field space with so little daylight left. Start time is too late as it is. Please, DO NOT START LATER!

This later start time is to late for kids that play sports or kids that work.

Be fair and let high school athletes have the same opportunities in the classroom as the rest of the student body. Do not let them miss any more class time than they already do. This is not equitable for all students.

too much class time was missed this year for students participating in after school sports. Not acceptable.
