The council needs to consult block by block. We have had 2 fires in our block in the past 5 years and although the unit that was ablaze was gutted, no other units were badly affected. This is due to the construction and paint treatment of our block. We dont need or want sprinklers, certainly not at that cost, and not forced upon us without consultation and contextual consideration.

As a tenant and a pensioner I have concerns about the cost of this . We are due to pay for installation of new cold water tanks in 2019 and a bill of £3000-4000 on top of this is very difficult for most of us

Decisions about fire safety improvements should be entirely evidence-based, after assessing each individual building, rather than blindly prioritising buildings that are a similar shape to Grenfell Tower.
My building is built very differently to Grenfell, with no cladding, excellent fire compartmentation and two fire escapes. The latest Fire Risk Assessment states that sprinklers are not needed.
If sprinklers were fitted to my building, or to any others managed by Wandsworth Council, I'm concerned that the contractors would charge a relatively high price for relatively low-quality work and materials, as I've recently experienced with major works.
I read that the Council wants to fit sprinklers to give residents peace of mind. I've been a resident and leaseholder for 11 years and I already have peace of mind about fire safety in my building. However, forcing me to accept extensive, invasive and unnecessary modifications to my home, and asking me to pay thousands of pounds for them, would have a terrible effect on my peace of mind!

I am against the installation of sprinklers at gernigan house as it in unecessary. It would cause huge inconvenience, both practical and financial. This building does not need to have sprinklers therefore I do not support their installation unnecessarily.

Just wanted to show support for this and how unfair the whole thing is. In fact if it goes ahead I will be selling my flat which my family bought in the originally period they became ex council, so very sad for me. Please feel free to let me know what else I have to do or how I can help

Wandsworth Council must conduct a consultation process so residents can make their own decision about whether we want sprinklers in our property, instead we believe that there are r many others fire safety upgrades that can be done

Being forced to pay for the sprinklers as a leaseholder is completely unfair, the council are acting as if our safety is their top priority, however if this was the case, all these safety measures would have been put in during the initial renovation of this block. This is quite disgraceful

We do not want sprinkler's in our block as this is a steel brick concrete building that has passed all Fire Regulations for 53 years it is not Glenfell Tower. Providing WBC carries out the Fire Regulations by a qualified workforce there will be no problems but they are left to incompetent people and work unchecked by WBC.

I find imposing retrospective installation of sprinkles on residents insulting and unnecessary. Our flats are self contained and money can be better spent. Big NO TO SPRINKLERS!!!. We do not want to have our flats mutilated!

There is no need for sprinklers in our building which has no cladding, is concrete frame and has two external fire escapes. As there is no need for them it is unreasonable for the council to seek to charge leaseholders for works. There should be consultation on a block by block basis and having undertaken individual fire Risk Assessments for each block and provided full details to all leaseholders.
