I am totally against the council imposing the cost sprinklers on leaseholders for something that is clearly a necessity for residents safety.
cladding is being removed from my block at the moment. that should be enough for fire safety rather than putting us through unnecessary disruption for something that is not needed.
leaseholders should be able to decide if they want sprinklers in their homes.

The council shouldn't be imposing leaseholders to fit sprinklers in their own homes if they don't want them. The block already has 2 fire escapes and no cladding on the building. It is not essential for these buildings to be fitted with sprinklers.

We are already under too much pressure of payments for new lifts and renovation of the block £4000 &£5000 respectively.

It is unfair and should be illegal to force people (to pay) to have sprinklers installed when there is no fire safety assessment evidence that they are required in each 10+ floor building. Grenfeld disaster was because of the cladding and in Wandsworth only 3 blocks have similar cladding (per the council's own assessment) and the council should replace the cladding on those 3 blocks rather than forcing leaseholders to foot the bill of unnecessary, costly and disruptive sprinkler systems. And it is not just the cost of installation, also damage to your flat because all the construction dust, the disruption as you need to supervise the workers in your own flat, and then the continuing maintenance cost and checks.

Thank for chasing this up, I don't think the installation is necessary, the fire brigade reports reported this as well, plus there is no cladding on the block which is made up by 9 floors and not 10.

I do not want sprinklers incorporated within my flat. All Leaseholders should be the initial decision makers on this matter as opposed to the council. An OPT IN (want sprinklers) or OPT OUT(don't want sprinklers) option should be the main consideration

There is no need for sprinklers here. There was a fire in my block not long ago and it was contained to one flat.

There should be no installation of sprinklers unless they are necessary. On our estate they are entirely unnecessary: - an expensive white elephant knee-jerk reaction.
