Recently Spelman College has started a new policy that will only allow commuter students 16 free meals on campus even though last semester, this policy was not in place. Also, after Spelman College had been featured in local news stories for the Hunger Strike that students held in 2017, the real question that needs to be asked is: what has changed? Why should commuter students not be allowed to eat at least once a day on campus as was allowed last semester? I want to ask all students at Spelman; please sign this petition so that I can show our school that this will affect their student body!

This is outrageous! We need fuel for our bodies. Don’t force some to starve throughout the day.
As a hopeful future Spelman student, I am saddened to hear about information like this. I hope the school that I attend treats all students with respect.
Suffering from food insecurities is no joke. My grades slipped because of it my sophomore year and lost my scholarship because of it. It’s a lot that not having access to meals can have on you.
Commuter students already have to travel back and forth from campus for classes and student organizations. The least we can do is support them and give them food.
As a graduating senior, and commuter I heavily rely on that one meal a day. Please take this petition into consideration!
End hunger

Seeing my sister stuggle for a simple necessities such as food is degrading and highly disappointing. Hear our voice!
