This is a petition to install speed bumps on cedar grove parkway. There are over 25 children under the age of 7 on the block and the excessive speed of those using the street as a cut through from pompton ave to fairview ave worries me as a parent that one of our children will get struck by a speeding vehicle. I would like your support in requesting from the town permission to install speed bumps from March 1st to November 30th

Updates

June 9, 2015

I met with the department of public works this morning to review the traffic safety parameters for Cedar Grove Parkway. They requested a formal proposal detailing the installation timeline for the seasonal speed bumps. I am currently drafting that document for submission by the end of the week.

The latest volume of support has secured us a formal meeting with the town traffic safety committee. I am currently drafting the proposal for the seasonal speed bump installation to present at that hearing.

I am already concerned with the excessive rate of speed drivers use on this block. The probability of our street being used as a pass through after the new houses are built with just intesify the existing problem. We need some type of speed deterrent.

I'd add that the addition of 400+ town homes on fairview will increase our streets a pass through to pompton Abe increasing the risk

I have a 10 year old son with autism. The speed bumps will help keep him safe if he happens to go into the road.

Danielle and I are concerned with the speed of cars coming up and down block. We both agree, there should be something the town does to make this a safer street for all.
