We need speed humps on residential streets in Beverly!!! Numerous residents have voiced concerns on both Nextdoor.com and Facebook about nearly being hit while exiting their driveway, walking, or running. This is especially concerning for families with children.

Drivers are frequently speeding and disregarding stop signs in residential areas with children present. This is unacceptable. Multiple residents have called the 19th Ward Office (O'Shea) and 311 without any response.

We are asking for speed humps on:

* Prospect Avenue between 99th and 107th Streets.

* 107th Street between Vincennes Avenue and Longwood Drive.

* Longwood Drive between 95th and 103rd Streets.

Please help spread the word to make our neighborhood a safer place for every resident!!!

Updates

April 10, 2017

I spent the entire morning watching cars fly down Prospect and honestly it just makes me sick to my stomach because it is only a matter of time before someone actually gets hurt. I have been leaving messages at the ward office every single day but they are still not giving me anything but silence which is just typical at this point.

We've just moved in the neighborhood and definitely noticed the speeders on Wood, Chelsea, and Prospect!

As Vanderpoel is such a wide street between 99th and 95th, it is often used as a short cut between the two major streets. The speeding is simply unsafe, especially with the number of children under 10 that reside on these blocks.

The speeding is out of control and something must be done before someone loses their life.
