Cutting back on funding for Education is ridiculous! The class sizes are growing as it is, we need more money into Education not less, and as a parent of a special needs student, I had better get the services my child needs, or my school board will be hearing about it as well as my area MP!

funds in reserves cannot be used, even if they have been saved for specific purposes. Does this mean after the election, the government will be taking that money back? If not, why has it been frozen?

Stop taking away money from our children's Education! We are a province growing massively population wise and our schools need the money to keep up with all the people moving here. Not to mention the growing needs of school systems. Bad PC's shame on you. Bring back Ralph it's the only way our family would ever vote for you again.

Was just wondering when the cuts occur to EA's this fall due to cuts in actual dollars going to those with special needs, and then budget cuts to the schools while 12,000 students start next fall, never mind cuts to ELL and aboriginals, if the government could tell me what time of day the "severely behaviour" child in my gifted child's class will have a sensory meltdown throwing their desk across the room? As the budget dictates for fall, that the student needing more help will no longer receive that one on one support, so guess we can all ask, HOW SAFE ARE OUR CHILDREN, in this inclusive yet unsupported "setting the direction" programming.

As a parent of a son with exceptional learning needs, we are greatly concerned for his wellbeing and educational needs being met in the education system going forward. He has had an amazing team of teachers, EA, SLP, OT & Behavioral therapist supporting his needs to be successful in an inclusive learning environment. But it has taken dedication and support of his funding to make it happen. Our school district will not have the proper funding grants from Alberta Education in September 2015 to maintain this level of support and it will be MY son that will suffer the most. We are advocating for change in Budget and start putting all students first in this province. We as the voters in the Province have an opportunity right now to voice our concerns & opinions - let's also do this at the polls on May 5/15.
