I am sure you may have heard of the plans by certain individuals who claim they speak on behalf of the whole Florida community to rid Masjid Al-Aashiqeen of Imaam Zakariya. The reason given is that he is not performing his duty as an Imaam which is untrue. The behavior of these individuals are bringing the Masjid in disrepute.

There is a petition to retain the services of the Imaam as well as to urge the committee to be more transparent with regards to the affairs and decisions taken regarding the Masjid. The Masjid is a beacon of the Florida Muslim community and as a result all decisions taken should be to represent the majority. If you have interacted with the Imaam and believe that he is an asset to the Masjid please do not hesitate to pass this message on to as many fellow Muslims within the Florida community inviting them to sign the petition.
