I would love to see a return of Southend Air Show. As a city, I’m surprised it is the base for air shows around the southeast without having one itself! Ours should be the best, reflecting our new city status!

You only need to look at social ledia and read the comments to see how much enjoyment an air show would bring to the community.
It would also support hospitality by bringing residents, community charge payers, and visitors to the seafront.

Most people like airplanes, so bringing back the airshow would encourage the return of the regular show visitors and the money they spend, but it would also encourage those that will be curious as to how things have changed now that we are the great City of southend.

I don’t understand why Southend Airport can host the red arrows and all the other planes so that the planes can participate in air shows in other towns like Clacton and Eastbourne yet Southend which is a city no longer hosts an air show. This is very disappointing and extremely sad. Come on Southend Council the air show brings thousands of people to the town and helps boost our local community so get your finger out and say YES to bringing back the Southend air show.
