It would be a travesty to put such an industrial, loud and noisy and polluted yard in such a beautiful ALR district that houses so many trails for kids, horses, bikers and hikers.

What are they (mayor & council along with the city planners) thinking. It's simply crazy to put this facility in South Canoe. Try the industrial park. That's what we have it for. Sad I have to explain that to them.

Sounds like the City want to expand the Industrial Park to South Canoe. What are they thinking. totally opposed to this. Lets keep they school gym as a recreation centre and community hall for they area.

We bought a lovely older home here for our young family to have farm animals and horses, to enjoy the wildlife and the peaceful parks so close by. We spent a good deal of time (a few years) researching and getting to know Salmon Arm and area before making our purchase and settling down. We spend all of our time outdoors, on the property or in the area. We really enjoy the variety of facilities out here: equestrian centres, bike and hike trails, and parks. We enjoy having ALL AGES of cyclists, joggers, horseback riders and dog walkers enjoy our pastoral roads. We love that a lot of people come to this area to get away from heavy traffic, and city noise just to be on these quiet, old country roads and in these parks. This is simply a really well known pedestrian haven. Had we known that this presently quiet and safe family and farming neighborhood would become an INDUSTRIAL operations site of beeping and clanging, dusty, fast moving dump-trucks , plows and other heavy equipment on narrow roads, to-ing and fro-ing from a yard lit up at night to be bright as day, all this, 24-7, we would never have purchased our home in this area. It will simply no longer be safe for horse back riders, children on ponies, walkers, joggers, families trying to cycle, or clubs and groups trying to host popular cycling, running or equestrian events on roads no intended for such industrial traffic. This move by the city so obviously contradicts the well known and loved "theme" of the South Canoe area, we just cannot believe for a moment this was given an ounce of thought or discussion by the city. I have heard from nearly all the residents along this street, and it is a loud and resounding response "THIS JUST DOESNT MAKE ANY SENSE!".

This location should not be considered for a Public Works Yard. Inappropriate for the District of Salmon Arm to propose bringing a Public Works Yard to a residential area...shame on you Salmon Arm!

Here we go again, industrial usage in South Canoe. What do we have a industrial area for ? The city already owes land in the industrial park and they want to spend tax payers to buy property, in a residentail area. . If a trucking firm wanted to locate in south canoe they would be turned down.GO TO THE INDUSTRIAL PARK for your expansion, to land you already own. L. Leel

Besides being a terrible use of land in a desirable residential and "farming equestrian" area, it would not make financial sense to the city. Property values in a this area will decrease and therefore tax revenues will go down. Not a winning proposition except to those who are buying it. This, the noise and traffic created, the ugliness, belong in the Industrial park, not near any residential area. As far as being near the gravel pit as being a reason, I was told years ago that the gravel pit is reaching it's lifespan, so in a couple years, that will be a non argument.

resident of Salmon Arm. We have an industrial area in S.A. And if towns takeover of the CRSD area near the pit is any example of their neighbourhood commitment the future is not good for us.

They belong in the industrial park, not in a residential farming area. I would be miffed if they moved around us and brought the large increase in traffic.

We live in a quiet family neighbourhood. A public works yard does not belong here - please find another location.
