Carnival as many will say is a Tradition and to some it's a way of life, to the community it means so much. In some ways it keeps the community going.

Best wishes from us it is much needed and South Somerset District Council should help, Sedgemoor District bends over backwards, as they know Carnival is a money maker when it comes to town.

Many young peoples careers have been started with involvement in carnival from a young age.
Lets hope the authorities use some money on a worthwhile project at last!

Carnival groups work at grassroots community development and should be supported at all levels. Good luck with your campaign xx

They should everyone pays taxes so I think every carnival club should be able to build the floats with out wording about being kicked out of where there to

I did my dissertation at Birkbeck College on the scant support Somerset Carnivals enjoy at the national level. Fortunately, in many areas such as Bridgwater and Glastonbury, clubs have been able to band together to enjoy a permanent home. They can then concentrate on the excellence of their carts rather than the stress of moving from place to place. The Ilminster/Chard area enjoys some of the best clubs on the West Country circuit. Please support their effort to go forward into the future, rather than dwindling away, as so many other clubs have done.

Bridgwater has one, glastonbury has one lets get one for the south as they've produced a fair few county winners over the years.

This is needed to secure the future of Carnival in South Somerset. So many clubs face an uncertain future, & a permanent base will allow communities to put their effort into producing better entries & being able to showcase their talents.
