Don’t kick residents out of their beautiful beach. It is a source of solace and respite which they need in these hard times.

Please reconsider this and find another solution. This just is not fair for the town residents who love to go and walk the beach early morning or after 5 pm. Or just go and sit in their cars. I myself like to take my two little pups for beach walks and sometimes I walk alone. Either way, the beach, the ocean, soothes the soul. It's therapy for so many of us. Just to sit and watch and listen to the ocean. To watch the sunrise or the sunset. Even on a dreary or a stormy day the beach can be a very peaceful place. The beach, the ocean, has many stories to tell if you listen closely. We are very blessed to live here in " God's Country". Please don't take this away from us.........Please

Being a resident who doesn’t live in walking distance of the beach and would like to go at sunrise and or sunrise but won’t be able to if this gate is there permanently

Beach access is becoming too small in little Compton as it is!
Watch as your rights erode away... can’t fish at night I suppose?? Government over reach!
Let people decide when to protect themselves from a virus. We don’t need big brother to make the decision for us.

Ummmm we pay taxes to keep that beach up...and many people in LC can not walk the beach as in they have disabilities and just LOVE to sit in their cars and watch the sunset or sunrise....absolutely NO danger in that ...YOU MUST RECONSIDER FOR THE PEOPLE WHO PAY TAXES TO KEEP THIS BEACH TAKEN CARE OF AND PAY THE PEOPLE TAKING CARE OF IT ....this is outrageous

Which shortsighted people came up with this gate installed at South Shore? Since when did the town officials turn our great little town into a quasi police state? How about our residents file a class action law suit? This gate violates RI law which guarantees beach access. Perhaps the attorney general should step in.
If the beach staff can manage 100% capacity on a normal summer day, without a gate, then they can manage 50% capacity without a gate! Use the police to enforce the rules... this is not a high crime area. Hire more staff if necessary. This policy is a disgrace.

Don't take my beach away from me! It's where I go to watch the sunrise and meditate. It's been part of my life for over 60 years...... PLEASE reconsider the gate and the hours.. We never needed these rules before, and we don't need them now.

Figure out a way to let townsfolk/Taxpayers to enjoy the beach after the heat of the day is gone. That is the best time in my opinion to go to Southshore!
