I own the Ramada in South Salt Lake. Our sign that are visible from I-80 are the only reason we can run a successful hotel in this location. We need to have freeway visibility and our signage is the most critical piece of visibility that we have.

Yeah. This is only going to hurt businesses, ultimately effecting the city tax revenue.
Might not want so many restrictions, or it will turn that part of the city into a ghost town.

This proposed sign code will hurt business, the community, and ultimately the City of South Salt Lake with reduced tax revenue. Good visible signage is critical for businesses to successful.

We continue to limit the ability for business to be successful. Signage is one of the way that people can know were business are and if we take that away we will have less successful business and loose revenue.

Even before Covid -19 our small small businesses faced a daily battle to compete for business with other areas and communities. Why would we purposefully handicap them in this way? They need to be seen! I cannot believe the the planning commission would be so utterly disconnected and insensitive as to propose these business killing restrictions. South Salt Lake is not Park City! What are they thinking??

As a business person in the SLC area it is concerning to me and my team that such stringent restrictions will be put in place. The newly proposed "CODE" is far more stringent than any other city along the Wasatch front. It is our strongest desire that the city rethink the code and its effects on local businesses in S. SLC.

It's my experience that restrictive sign codes result in businesses resorting to less attractive forms of signs (such as banners, sandwich signs, inflatables, etc.) in order to get the word out, which essentially backfires on the purposes of the restrictive sign code in the first place. A well drafted, accommodating sign code promotes the orderly and attractive installation of signs.

I am opposed to this ordinance change for signage in the South Salt Lake area. As a business owner it would be very hard for my business to survive with these changes.

Signs are one of the ways local businesses attract customers. I'm not sure what the intent of the new sign code is. Stop with all the regulations. Allow businesses to "say it with a sign."
