Businesses are struggling during COVID. There is no way to justify adding hundreds or thousands of dollars to the budgets of small local businesses. Just stop.

Government should be working with businesses, especially small and locally owned, to ensure they remain in business. Most small businesses cannot afford the burden these restrictions would place on them. Many will not survive the current pandemic the way it is. Please protect the business you have. Your community needs them just as much as they need you.

I oppose the very restrictive sign code being proposed to the South Salt Lake City planning commission. It would have a negative impact on businesses and I feel that businesses need all the help they can get. Especially at this time where they are struggling due to Covid.

This is not only counterproductive, given the current situation it’s actually cruel. This makes no sense. At least grandfather existing businesses or better yet, drop it all togeather.

Standard Plumbing Supply is vehemently against any change to the sign code. Further restrictions are detrimental to not only business but also to their customers. Smaller signs are difficult to see and lead to customers taking their business to easier to find locations. Further it presents a safety hazard as drivers slow down and stop on roadways as they attempt to find the appropriate signs to indicate the business.
