Oxford City Council: Install lights along the path at the top of South Park

Would be a-lot safer and would affect a lot of the population who travel too and from Cowley Road-Brookes Uni/Headington.

This is something that needs to happen because otherwise it'll become a hot spot for lack of security like Pullens Lane for anyone from Clive Booth last year who remembers!

This is really needed because it is a serious health and safety issue and would give confidence and support to those too scared to walk in the park after dark.

Definitely need a few lights! Not loads, even one or two would do!

This is a fantastic idea and one that would certainly improve the safety of Oxford's students/young people.

Please install these lights as a matter of urgency. It could be your son or daughter, wife or mother having to run the gauntlet!

A priority for student safety at Brookes!

Making this route safer for everyone is a great idea and should be a priority.

Absolutely! This should be a priority. I would never use this path at night but given its important link between Brookes and the city, it must be made safe.

Good idea if the wildlife won't be affected.

Very worthwhile petition!

This will allow people to feel safer walking this path, particularly in Winter when it gets dark at 5pm a time when staff and a lot of students have finished a days work and begin their journey home.

Please add lights to this path. I sometimes avoid walking along it in the dark (which, in winter, comes early - this isn't just a late night issue). It's also dangerous because you can't see other people on the path, or whether they're walking towards or away from you. I've had some near misses when it's really dark. And this is not to mention the very serious issue of criminal activity in the park.

Let's make Oxford safe for all!

Better safe than sorry

Please make this happen! It's bothered me since I was 13 years old at Cheney school coming him in the winter, up until now as a 21 year old Brookes student!

This would make me feel much more comfortable walking through the park from the library at night.
