This would be very helpful for families, Oxford Brookes and the nearby school. And will definitely prevent a lot of problems and dangers. Hope it happens! I'd definitely feel safer

As a lecturer at Oxford Brookes, I think it is vital to keep safe and secure spaces around the Oxford Brookes campus for students and the broader community. It is a cause that the whole community should be able to benefit from rallying around.

Lights are a necessity along the path! The lack of lighting forces a lot of students to often divert around south park at night which is and unnecessary waste of time and energy.

Please ensure CCTV surveillance and street lights for this park. Would urge the authorities to also plan for security escort and police vigilance in this neighbourhood to manage student safety on priority. Thank you

Although arguments have been made in the past about lights potentially damaging the plant/animal life in the area of the path, I believe that student safety is more important and that even minimal lighting will greatly improve the safety in this area. I am surprised this has not already been done. Proactive action is better than reactive.

That path is bloody scary walking through in the dark. I can hardly see where am going or if am waliking into someone. Not safe at all.

For hundreds of students, this path cuts journey time massively but is unfortunately very dangerous in the dark due to health and safety risks, danger of possible assault etc and the installation of lights would greatly benefit many people.

The park is a shortcut to and from our university campus, but because it is always dark I don't even use this path because there isn't any lights . Please add lights to the park so people could safely go back home !

As a housing officer that looks after over 400 students in Oxford I think this is avery worthy petition and highlights a definate health and safety concern.

I use this path regularly, and when it gets dark, it is quite scary and dangerous especially when walking alone.

I frequently have to walk this in the early hours of the morning on my way back to Cheney Student Village. After a late night with a study group at Sinnet Court and carrying a Lap-Top, Tablet and Mobile Phone I am an easy target. I do walk very quickly through this part of the park. We have a 24hr Library but we do not have 24hr security on our way home !!!

This is vital ,my sister used to walk this route in the dark in her uni days. We weren't always concerned for her safety and the safety of others using the path in the dark!
