The original concept and marketing campaign thirty years ago for the south loop was to attract small businesses and generations of families to form a unique community within a big city. The rapid decline of our cherished neighborhood started two years ago. Evicting a quality small business that brings tourist and locals to experience Chicago is just adding to the rapid downhill spiral of this city. People all over the world would visit Chicago’s magnificent mile and Food scene. The owner of 11 City Diner invested in our neighborhood at the beginning and offers our community a experience that makes our neighborhood a special place to live.
I suspect many landlords will sell out to Corporations as they are burdened with the highest taxes and utilities cost in the nation. Thus continuing the destruction of a once thriving city.
Please do not go forward with a McDonalds in such location.

Eleven City is a neighborhood institution and part of what makes this a great place to live. Having a unique restaurant replaced with a chain establishment that is widely available throughout the world is myopic and takes away a unique element of our neighborhood. By serving a downgraded food product compared to the quality of Eleven City, this is focusing on serving a transient, tourism based customer instead of the people of the neighborhood.
