Sound Moderators - Lift the Criminal Prohibition

This is just common sense for target shooters and ranges

I fully support the right of Canadians to own sound moderators. These are useful, effective safety devices and should never have been criminalized in the first place.

This benefits everyone

We need these for general noise abatement and to protect the hearing of participants and spectators. The old garbage about increasing crime is just that "garbage" illegal gun users will not hesitate to use larger magazines, noise suppressors, short barrels, illegal calibers (.25) and other such things anyway. Making these illegal just harms the health of law abiding citizenry

Section 7 of the Charter of Rights would back this up,I believe.

Being able to use a sound moderator would be great !!

Time to come into the current reality and allow licensed citizens this means of protection towards their hearing.

H&S laws should take precedent over the Firearms Act.

I support the legalization of sound moderators as essential PPE for shooting sports.

I'm an audio engineer and my ears are vital to my livelihood. Keeping them plugged or covered for large amounts of time is not the best thing either

Would love to have this available to us, makes for good neighbours and more enjoyable time when target shooting, plus the benefits of hearing protection

Our hearing matters. Help protect our hearing by allowing leagle Canadian firearm owners to purchase sounds suppressors. This will also lower noise levels around gun ranges and so much more. The benefits is endless.

Having been hunting lately. I would be the first to say that hearing protection is not on my mind when sneaking up on an animal.

I hope that intelligent research will be allowed to have its say, although I suspect that decades of Hollywood will prevail, as it was largely responsible for the ban in the first place

Sound moderators would be extremely beneficial in reducing hearing damage associated with hunting and shooting sports in general! It is just not practical to wear hearing protection while hunting, there is often not enough time do don ear muffs once on animal is spotted. There are many countries that have much more restrictive firearms laws, yet they allow sound moderators!

There's no foundation in common sense or law that gives credence to the prohibition of sound moderating devices for firearms. Our government has allowed itself to make law based on watching James Bond movies which is sheer idiocy. This mistake needs to be corrected for both sport shooters sakes and tax payers sakes who are burdened with the cost of health care for a preventable injury.

No good reason for suppressors not to be allowed for law abiding licensed gun owners it would make target shooting safer more enjoyable and less intrusive for neighbors. Problem is people have seen to many Hollywood movies that are B.S
