Sound Moderators - Lift the Criminal Prohibition

hearing aids are expensive. so is lost productivity at work. no danger to public!

I want sound moderators prohibition to be lifted.

I feel it necessary to improve the personal safety for myself and others around me, when target shooting, that sound moderators be legal to use.

This one is simple, supressors should not be banned "because killings could be made in complete silence". This isn't Die Hard people, supressors REDUCE sound levels they do not eliminate them. And don't tell me to stop shooting if it hurts my ears, heck I'd put a supressor on my blender if I could! In all honesty, do criminals care about what's legal and what isn't? Working out well for drugs isn't it?

This would greatly aid in reducing hearing loss among individuals around firearms on a regular basis.

Let's get this going.

Sound moderators would go a long way to protecting not only the hearing of sport shooters, it would also reduce the most significant source of emissions of noise from approved shooting ranges that are used by both civilians and are often used by military and police forces for training. Most European countries permit their use.

It has a purpose that would improve my life. If I can be trusted to own non-restricted and restricted firearms, then why can't I be trusted to own and use silencers?

There is no reason what-so-ever that these devices, at the very least, can't be re-classified as restricted and approved for range use. With this, they would pose ZERO danger to the public, but they would help protect the hearing of sport shooters and range employees as well as reduce noise pollution to the surrounding area. The government could also generate income from licencing and taxation as well.

My ears would sure appreciate this, come to think of it so would my neighbors.

Why should we risk the hearing of shooters, I only wish sound suppression was available when I started 45 yrs ago.

Supressors would be a nice hearing protecting device weather hunting or on the range!

In some European jurisdictions it is illegal to shoot WITHOUT the suppressor

I want to protect my hearing AND avoid annoying others within earshot of our range/club. So what's wrong with that, Govn't of Canada??

I want the government to recognize me as the responsible adult that I am and treat me as such. I do not want the government to mother me, as it would a child, which I am not.

This would be benefecial 2 ways,1)help ear protection,2)Reduce considerably noise pollution during hunting sreason.

Nobody like tinnitus, and these can be taxed to help with the billions in deficits...
