I have hearing loss and ringing from working in Afghanistan, I feel it's my charter right to mitigate noise that makes my hearing worse.

After shooting for an extended period among other shooters, even with ear protection on, my ears were ringing. This would help stop very probable hearing damage in sport shooters and hunters alike. Glad to see this moving forward!

My dog can't wear earplugs. Shooting my rifle scares him and hurts his ears. Please amend the silly laws that prevent the use of sound moderators.

Section 7 of our Charter of Rights and Freedoms recognises an individual’s right to personal health and safety.
The sound moderator prohibition clearly infringes on our Chartered Rights plus there is no reason to prohibit something that one can make for $20 at home.

Think of it like a muffler on a car. It serves a particular purpose and that purpose is to reduce noise and minimize hearing damage. Plain and simple.

This only makes sense. It would greatly help in reducing the number of noise complaints, particularly after new neighborhoods are constructed near existing gun ranges.

this is already supported in many other countries and there is no evidence that moderation of sound has any detrimental affect to any crime/firearm offence rates.
