It's kind of sad that the general public buys in to the Hollywood mentality that sound suppressors actually render gunshots silent. This is nothing more than a tool to make hunting and sport shooting more enjoyable for everyone, including land owners in the vicinity of gun ranges, even if they don't shoot

I live beside crown land and my neighbours always shoot their rifles and it would be nice to not hear them all the time

Speaking from experience, I lived in the UK for most of my life and had suppressors on all of my rifles. When I moved to Canada 10 years ago I imported one of my rifles but had to leave the suppressor in the UK. I cannot believe that a free country prohibits the use of a health and safety device for its citizens but allows the Police and Military to protect their hearing.

Guns are the only internal combustion engines that are prohibited by misdirected Canadian law from having mufflers attached to the exhaust ports.

New Zealand is a perfect example of how allowing sound moderators will have zero impact on criminality, and will only have a beneficial effect for all. There is no rational reason not to allow their use in Canada by lawfully licensed gun owners.

I believe it would be a valuable asset to my children to be able to use moderators as they would be able to save there hearing as proper hearing protection does not always work.
