Sound suppresors or moderators are a safe way to protect the hearing of the hunter but also the animals and public.

The prohibition on sound moderators is based on misinformation and misconceptions rather than fact. Evidenced based policy would recognize the benefits of these devices and that there is not significant public safety risk from allowing their possession.

This is needed.

Allowing sound moderators should be considered in the same manner as ear plugs and safety glasses.

Can we get with common sense please and get with the rest of the world on this?

Astonishing that sound moderators are legal in many of the countries with strict gun control but not legal in Canada.

We are so far behind the rest of the developed world on this, it's crazy.

We are very much behind the international curve in this aspect of firearms regulation.

We live in a society where car mufflers are mandatory yet rifle suppressors are prohibited. Really makes you think

Some common sense legislation is needed. The UK,with much stricter gun control laws then our own.Allow suppressors for hearing protection (even while legally hunting), and noise pollution from ranges in urban areas.

Many European countries allow their citizens to own sound suppressors, including the UK. It is an aberration that Canada still has this regressive prohibition in place based on Hollywood myths.

Banning sound moderators for firearms make about a much sense as banning airbags and seat belts for cars.
