Part of the reason my family moved to Dorchester 10 years ago, was so my daughter could attend school at DCS. I heard what a great little school it was from other mothers who's children attended there, and I found out students at DCS consistently score higher on the Provincial Math, English and Reading Comprehension. This shows me that our school is doing a great job academically. Socially, our little school is like a family, where the older kids watch out for the youngers ones, and bullying is practically non-existent. Because of small class sizes at DCS, we are also able to provide programming and community volunteering in Enrichment Acitivities such as orienteering, karate, painting, sewing, beading and tie-dyeing which would be near impossible to do in a larger school.

In 1971 the province closed Dorchester High and it tour the heart out of the little village, Dorchester can not afford to have this same mistake repeated.

It' goes without saying Dcs staff is family. When a mother registers her child from the other side if memtamcook and she works in eArly childhood education , because she sees the quality , something good us happening in Dorchester .

Our son is only a year away from going to school, and we were really hoping he could go to school close to home and with the quality of education offered by DCS.

Little schools benefit children, not hinder them! Kids come out actually having an education and are able to read and write unlike larger schools! Bullying is almost, if not, non-existent and if there is an issue it is identified and dealt with properly. There is already crowded classes, not enough class rooms, kids learning absolutely nothing, being bullied, etc., in larger schools, so how is adding more children going to help? Even if you add more teachers there are not enough classrooms! Quality of education is more important than quantity of students. Dorchester is a small community with big hearts! Leave well enough alone and repair the school! When I have children and it comes to sending them to school and DCS does not exist, I will be homeschooling them. Over my dead body will they be sent to SES, MMS, PERS, or a school in Moncton!

Please save our school, I currently have 2 daughters in this school and one has special needs. I know for a fact she will never get the same treatment in any other school.

I went to DCS from Grade 3 onwards and it was a great school which I remember well. It is a focal point of the community and needs more attention and not to be discarded.
