LIVES, homes and businesses are not worth losing in our community due to funding cuts and or reallocation of funds.
FIRE FIGHTERS DO MUCH MORE THAN FIGHT FIRES.
Our fire fighters SAVE LIVES. They attend and assist vehicle accidents, provide water rescue whether from water craft or flooding, they protect and assist in confined space safety and rescue, and what about the vital roll they play in medical emergence response. These are only a few of the things that our fire fighters are credited for. Also, as a mother of a fire fighter I am deeply concerned and feel that such action would be detrimental to the safety of these dedicated men and women who put their lives on the line to save ours.
I urge CITY COUNSEL not to act too hastily but to scrutinize this proposal with due diligence when this issue is presented on October 26th, 2015.

Firefighters save houses and people. We need them. These cut backs are an outrage!!!! Safety is not an area to save money!!! Do something!!!

As a fellow Brother you have my full support. All the city sees is cash savings not people and lives. I will contact the city and let them know what I think.

Cutting that many positions isn't a good thing, I'd rather have proper protection. No cuts please

I strongly appose the cuts that would put both the fire fighters and the citizens of this city in further danger should there be an out of control fire. It is easy to say "let's save money" but to what expense. One life lost would be too many!!

Cutting vital services in our City may help the Fire Chief stay within his given budget but it endangers the lives of those within this community. Any City Councillor voting for vital service reductions, should be voted out of their positions. And people need to pay attention to this story.

Not only would these proposed cuts affect the safety of our community but also the safety of our firefighters. It would also affect our population as many of those anticipating a position will have to relocate to pursue their dreams. In addition it affects the future of our young who have been moulding themselves to become a firefighter making them reconsider their dreams or forced to choose between their dreams and a city they love.

I am strongly opposed; this plan will endanger the safety and well being of citizens and firefighters.

I believe we should not follow through with these cuts because of the number of people this would effect. Not only are you leaving adults unemployed and creating less opportunities for aspiring firefighters, you put civilians at a higher risk due to the simple fact that there will be 25% less responders to fire emergencies.
Please leave firefighters alone and hire more medics!
