I definitely oppose these cuts. There is a trust, which might be unfounded, given to those who run our government at all levels. We believe they will keep us safe and secure. Front line defenses should never be downsized. Knowing these heroes are here when we need them gives wonderful peace of mind...and you can't buy that with a budget cut. Prevention should be our motto. We cant' bring back the dead. This is essential service...what exactly are they thinking downtown?

The community needs to know and understand that the fire department will be fully capable to do there job do you diligently with less firefighters. "Having plenty hands make easy work" I'm not saying it's easy but more firefighters will be able to have a more successful rate of a better outcome

As a taxpayer I am totally appalled at this proposal to cut 25% of the firefighters. Robbing one service at pennies a day per household to to improve another service is not a safe move. Citizens of Sault Ste Marie deserve top services from all their emergency response agencies.

As has been my experience in other municipalities, when you decrease services you can't get them back when you need them. So in the long term it costs more.

Shame on the new chief & anyone else who is in agreement. This is not only as ridiculous as it sounds, but clearly DISASTROUS to our city!!!

There are other ways to cut spending without loosing more jobs in Sault Ste. Marie. The public's safety and firemen's safety should not be compromised!
