fire calls may be down ,but when there is a fire you need to have a proper number of fire fighters on the scene in order to get the job done in an efficient and safe manner

Citizens should be outraged if these go through! Council should run the chief out of town. Firefighter safety should be paramount.

1. It's time to get rid of the fire chief and replace him with a "local" person who actually lives in & understands our city 2. I value the safety of my family and friends more than any amount of $ out there 3. If there is a fire and the SSMFD don't make it to the scene quick enough due to a lack of resources...it doesn't matter how many EMT's you have, if there aren't the firefighters to go in & rescue people; there won't be the need for the EMT's !

Emergency services are necessary - city employees don't need vehicle allowances.

This is outrageous!! If layoffs are a must, lay off some road workers who lean on their shovels for most of the day.

Don't get rid of the firemen, they are the frontline people who will rescue and save the homes that we live in. If we are so short on the EMS, why not train some of the firefighters as they are the first responders in any situation

Our firefighters are essential to our communities safety and no way should we lose what we have for $$$. They work long hours and respond to so many types of calls besides fire. The new chief hasn't been in the Sault long enough to get to know our needs here. We don't need to make him look good at our expense.

Tell city council to take a pay cut or pay freeze.

This is just unacceptable, what are you thinking about with these cuts, living in a highrise apartment bldg. makes me very nervous knowing there may not be enough firemen to help us all get out alive.

come on there has to be better ways to cut cost than putting people in danger

Does the city want potential law suits by residents who lose property from being inadequately protected. Would we see this happening with the police force who are short staffed? I think not!! Wake the hell up city of SSM. It seems we get rid of one idiot in the city hierarchy only to hire another boob.
