The school have explored numerous options to keep our crossing patrolled, the only alternative to keep our pupils safe is a Pufin.

Such a dangerous road for our children to cross. If we can't have a crossing patroller then we need a good alternative.

The safety of pedestrians is paramount.

Extremely busy road especially at drop off and pick up times. Multiple road access onto Pound Lane right near zebra No lollipop person now. Limited sight of crossing for drivers due to bend. Cars travelling regularly in excess of 20 mph. Drivers already regularly not stopping at crossing for pedestrians. A Puffin crossing would provide a safer option than what exists at the moment - a zebra crossing. I witness near misses on a regular weekly basis.

Even though the speed limit is 30 / 20 - drivers still go too fast down Pound Lane and having a lollipop person makes the drivers comply and slow down - which is essential for this to be safe crossing for the kids when going to school.

The presence of an lollipop person at this crossing is needed to improve drivers' compliance to stop and not put children and the elderly at risk. Pound Lane is a busy commuter route and bluntly put, only other parents will consistently stop at the crossing for children.

People go too fast over the crossing. It is a very busy road for traffic to and from Sonning bridge. I saw an older gentleman have to step back off the crossing due to a car somehow failing to notice it. Accident waiting to happen!

If you stand on the Charvil side of the crossing and look right, you will notice the road curves away into an almost blind bend for drivers coming up from Pearson Rd direction. They only see the crossing at the last moment. Drivers are often in a hurry: I have been on there when the crossing is not manned and it is without doubt a danger to small children if there is no crossing assistance.

Please help keep our children safe. There are many instances where car drivers ignore the fact that there is a crossing there and someone waiting to cross. Instead of stopping, they drive on. A Puffin crossing will help to prevent such impatient drivers behaving in this way.

The road where our pedestrian crossing is to get to school is very busy in the mornings and afternoons around school Drop off and pick up. Some cars don't even acknowledge that it's a pedestrian crossing let alone with a supervised person as well. I've experienced a couple of times where I've about to cross the road with my 2 children and a car has just carried on going without even a care in the world. Had I not been there and my children thought it was safe to cross, which it was, who knows what would have happened. I think it's a disgrace that we are losing the only thing that prevents serious harm to our children and parents. Please do not remove our lollypop lady from the school she is a valuable member of the community and is also a lovely lovely lady.

I am grandparent of a child at Sonning primary school. Please look again at the safety of residents and schoolchildren alike.

I have just signed this petition. Please sign & share too. Wokingham Borough Council funding cuts mean we will lose our crossing patroller (Lollipop Lady!) at the end of this term. A petition for a Puffin Crossing is the only other way we can keep our children, villagers & community safe at this busy crossing with a blind bend on a fast road. Thank you.

We definitely need a safe way for children to cross this very dangerous road in the mornings. And while we're here, what about pavements on both sides of the road...?

The road is too hazardous for parents to cross with young children during rush hour.

The road passed the school is a rat run. If nothing is done to enable parents, grandparents and children to cross the road safely there will be an accident sooner rather than later. Do the council really want blood on their hands ?

Pound Lane is a busy commuter route which would benefit by having a puffin crossing installed to keep both pupils from the school and residents safe.

Pound Lane is a well used commuter route. A number of cars will speed on this road and some do not stop in time for the children to cross. The road can be busy at school drop off and pick up and road users can get frustrated with the delay from having to pass parked cars. This frustration can lead to faster driving and less care on the crossing. Having the crossing replaced with lights would provide a much clearer instruction to drivers that they must stop and allow pedestrians to cross
