No to Three Weekly Bin Collections in Somerset - Somerset County Council reconsider the plans before they start in Autumn 2017

We really need to stop this if we can !!

We need weekly collections

2 weeks it's allready to much

No to 3 week collections.

This is ridiculous! Three weeks is way too long between collections!

We are a family of 5 and can just about manage with fortnight collections.

It will introduce rats and possibly worse to do this in such a built up new estate as stockmoor. But what more can we do? My family recycle everything that goes in to the bin and only throw away non-recyclables. But with my youngest still potty-training it still results in a lot of smelly and foul wastage on a weekly basis. If the council is doing this for cost-cutting purposes (which I presume they are) they will have to offset the extra vermin-control required on the estate against any savings they think they might make.

We recycle loads but even our bin for three of us is full every two weeks. It will difficult for bigger families or those with limited space to store rubbish. We had one week when it was not emptied properly so it was overflowing the fortnight later. You will end up up with extra bags next to the bins.

I recycle as much as I can but my bun is full in two weeks, will be mental and in hygenic to do every 3 weeks

We struggle on the two cycle, three you've got to be joking. Increased council tax and reduced service!

This is stupid !

I don't agree with less collection but this could only work if we are allowed to recycle more and more ..i.e. .fruit juice cartons but we haven't been told any of this yet

What are we paying are council tax for.

Our weely bin is always full at the current frequency of collection, 3 weekly collection will make things worse . It will also encourage fly tipping .

If the refuse service is being reduced,our council tax should be reduced as well.

As a family of 8 with 6 children under the age of 12 we already struggle with the fortnightly collections even having two main bins doesn't help so either rubbish is left outside the bins and end up being ripped open by animals and smelling attracting rats , hedgehogs and cats etc, also being unsightly and smelling attracting fly's it's not acceptable

I live in a block of flats by a river 2 weeks isnt enough 3 weeks is just going to encourage wildlife and not the pleasent kind

What next to save money, where else would you pay more to get less

It is not a good idea at all. It will lead to more fly tipping across Somerset. More flys, maggots and other vermin.
