No to Three Weekly Bin Collections in Somerset - Somerset County Council reconsider the plans before they start in Autumn 2017

How about instead of cutting waste collection, cut several counsellors from the payroll. Losing half a dozen or more several thousand pound salaries of uneccassary wastage at a higher level, would surely help solve this issue.
In the summer months, when the sun is beating down (not all of us have the privilege of a shady area to put our waste) our bins become infested with maggots and no matter how much they're cleaned, the longer they hold waste, the worse the problem becomes. Maggots turn into flies and flies infest our homes. Rats seem quite fond of waste too. Maybe the council can provide free pest extermination when the problem will very soon present itself.
If anything we need bins collected weekly and move recycling to fortnightly.

We are a two person household with pets and struggle already!!! Even had to ask for more recycling boxes recently as we have so much of it!

I just don't see how this is going to work! It's bad enough that we have to manage on 2 weeks! I think that's more than enough

Increase in council tax for less service. I think not! You know this will only lead to yet more fly tipping !

This is seriously not going to work! Already struggling now and having to rely on someone to take me to the tip once a week! And I receycle everything!

Until there are more articles to recycle and are being collected then it is stupid to go to 3weekly rubbish collection. There are many who do not bother to recycle so more education needed !

Its hard to manage at 2 weeks. I make sure i recycle everything i can but it still only just fits in. And don't know what I will do with the extra week of rubbish. It will be a heath hazard with my young children around.

3 weekly will increase the amount of rubbish lining our streets you only have to read the news on the amount of illegal dumping already going on investment in new lorries and staff are needed to cope with the extra houses being biult not paint over the problem by pinching from other routes

It's bad enough now, i recycle everything and my rubbish bin is full, I even have a odd bag every week, they will need to up the bags, my partner works the bins, he said it's bad enough now

As a resident in a seasideholiday resort to have my bin out front for three weeks attracting rats and flies will look at the least unpleasant or at most infectious as i have no space for food recy le bins where i live

As a family of 6, the plan of bin collections once every three weeks is not realistic or environmentally helpful. Currently, we recycle all we can and participate fully in garden waste, but we struggle as it is with every other week. PLEASE RECONSIDER.
