Here the students of the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB), have been distressed about the escalating housing costs that have continuously burdened the community. Affordable housing is fundamental to student success and well-being, yet many of us struggle to find reasonably priced and safe accommodations in and around Isla Vista. This situation not only affects the academic performance of students but their mental and physical health as well. With our collective effort, our struggling community will find a solution to end this persistent problem.

im still reading through all the stories people are posting about their living situations and it really drives home how broken this system is. i have some meetings coming up with local offices to talk about these rent prices so ill let you know how those go.

the momentum behind this is honestly wild and it shows just how many of us are struggling with these housing costs. seeing everyone speak up makes me feel way less alone in this fight.

paying 1200 for a shared room is a joke. seriously needs to change.
MY RENT WENT UP AGAIN THIS YEAR AND I CANT AFFORD GROCERIES ANYMORE. FIX THIS.
