Peter was one of the best professors I ever had and with 2 bachelor degrees and 3 masters, I had quite a lot of professors in my life. People should not be denied the opportunity of leaning from him.

Prof. Peter May has provided a great value of adult education theory and mastermind ciritcal thought into adult learning and education through his well-respected publications and academic work which, in my understanding, claim a strong postion and role for him at his distinguished university and, also, in international community of adult education as UNESCO chair in ALE. As a strong example, his important works on Gramsci and Freire deserves him for positions he has taken. Finally, it isn an honour to be ther in support of Peter to claim respect and honour for his work and academic collaboration in compartative studies in adult education. Sincerely, Balázs Németh, associate professor in ALE at UniPécs, Hungary, member of EAEA Board, and PIMA ExCo, Vice-director of PASCAL Int. Observatory for Central-East Europe

I see this as the backlash to critical pedagogy and adult education, which challenges the status quo in education as a social institution. Very happy to add my name to this petition.

This is a travesty. Peter has done amazing, powerful work in critical, transformative education throughout his career and continues to do so. His work as UNESCO Chair is one of many accomplishments leading to increased equity, justice, and peace inside and outside formal education throughout the world. This action against Peter is shameful and must be retracted.

For years, Peter Mayo is an inspiring, hard working, top notch scholar for me. His name can make a university credible not the long hours teaching lecturers. It shows Malta University do not know what to do with the internationally known scholars in their university and how they should treat them. Possibly, UoM will be in the black list of the university history of neoliberal era.

Prof. Peter Mayo is an inspiration for many of us, young people, students, researchers and the whole academic community worldwide. His work is magnificent! The University of Malta should be proud of this world-leading scholar in the field of adult education, promotion of Freire's methodology, critical pedagogy and education for all. My heart, my voice and my solidarity are with you, my dear prof. Mayo.
