Peter Mayo is one of the best-known professors- researchers worldwide in the field of education, especially adult education, and has made a great contribution to his university. His perspective of analysis and research has solid roots in the historical reconstruction of phenomena and ranges in numerous disciplinary areas: a broad perspective as few scholars have. As a full professor of Pedagogy at the University of Verona I can testify that he has also made many contributions to Italian universities with numerous collaborations. I appeal to the University of Malta to reconsider its decision. We need his mental clarity and his excellent work in our troubled world.

I urge the University of Malta (UM) to reflect on this case as a way of introducing a more transparent and fair system when it comes to such matters.
