The argument that the university has a responsibility to continue to invest in new and upcoming talent is actually a reason to keep Peter. What better investment can one have, if not through the mentorship, academic guidance and example of Peter, when it comes to adult education and critical education?

This is a short sighted and cannibalistic move by the University of Malta. Come to your senses and do the obvious- reinstate Dr. Peter Mayo, a Professor of international repute and scholarly impact that only his employer apparently does not seem to realize let alone appreciate. An affront to academic freedom everywhere and a dark day for the University of Malta and international higher education.
