Solidarity with Peter Mayo

I support this petition, and hope that the University of Malta comes to recognise the errors it has made regarding its treatment of the internationally respected Professor Peter Mayo. In Solidarity, for Recognition and Justice.

This decision seems not only wrong-footed but also extremely unfair at a number of levels: here's hoping it will be revoked.

Peter has been friend and colleague for over 30 years and has been a profound influence on my work in popular education. His work as UNESCO chair in Global Adult Ed is both fitting and crucial in this time when education has never been more consequential for our world. It's unfathomable to me that the Univ. of Malta would squander the value of Peter and the work he still has to do and that benefits countless people, social movements, and academia (which, of course, includes the Univ. of Malta).

This case represents injustice to an internationally renowned scholar who continues to publish important work in the field of education.

Prof Mayo is a very distinguished and productive member of his department at University of Malta. The University would be very foolish not to retain him.
