So ALL can read

Our daughter is now in 6th grade and although she has been in reading intervention since K and has had an IEP since 4th grade, she is just now receiving the appropriate program for dyslexia. FCPS needs to better identify children with dyslexia and provide the appropriate intervention sooner.

Please fund the programs and encourage the school system to give priority to implementing tier 3 structured literacy intervention. My 4th grade daughter should've been identified and helped years ago and was failed. FCPS still needs to screen the students struggling to get the scope of what they are dealing with. Every day children are showing 'signs' and not getting the help they need.

My son is in 3rd grade and in the first "class" of students being supported by LF. There are so many children who are yet to be identified. Please provide additional funding for our students, early identification and intervention is so important.

Supporting our struggling readers is absolutely essential. Without a basic proficiency in reading our students will be held back from reaching their potential for the rest of their lives. Please do not fail our students by ignoring this problem that we know how to address.

Dyslexic hildren like my 7th grader need access to programs that are more intense than Language Foundations.

Please help all students be better and stronger readers.

This is SO important!! The schools need programs to help recognize and faciltate the success of students with dyslexia. The programs the schools currently have are not enogh to ensure success for these students.

These programs will make the difference for so many students. Language Foundations has already started to help like my son who was convinced he would never be able to read and now he is starting to read and making new Learning connections everyday in the program.

I am a FC resident. My son is in the 6gh grade with dyslexia. Language Foundatins is NOT enough for him- bc of this he struggles ever day to keep up. He needs more and deserves more.

Please support the children of FCPS. They all deserve a bright future. Without basic reading skills, that can't happen.

How sad that FCPS allowed the excellent Orton-Gillingham program, so successful in the 90's, to be abandoned around 2005.

With a state that has 57% of its 4th graders not proficient in reading, it seems like FCPS would try to take the lead to reversing this trend.

Please provide funding for a more therapeutic Program for our moderate and severe Dyslexic students as well as provide Visualization and Verbalization in the funds. $800,000 total

Please provide funding for dyslexic Children to learn to read. They work so hard to do something that we all take for granted and they deserve every opportunity we can give them.

Please take this seriously. Our kids need to be taught with Structured Literacy. Early screening, trained teachers an appropriate programs K-12. The time is now. No more wait to fail. Please see the importance of helping all to read and succeed.
