The response from people living in our desert communities has been gut-wrenching as I hear story after story of horses abandoned or left to suffer. I am currently working to get a direct meeting with the Department of Agriculture to demand they explain who is supposed to watch our borders if they pull out of the south entirely.

Seeing this kind of movement confirms that so many of you understand the danger of leaving our southern borders unprotected. I am overwhelmed by the support for the horses who cannot speak for themselves.

totaly unacceptable. we have plenty of problems with livestock in the vegas area already. dont cut our coverage!!!
my property is constantly threatened by loose animals. leave the enforcement in the south its needed bad
Living in the south this makes no sense. The horses are everywhere and nobody is watching them. keep the officer here.
the neglect is heart breaking. if we dont have someone out here doing the work these people will just keep getting away with it.
seems like someone in the state office forgot about half the state. leaving southern nevada vulnerable isnt the answer.

Who is going to keep an eye on things if they move everyone north? this is just asking for more trouble with the herds.
