Why would we reject the smaller project several years ago, yet move forward with this? The building is too big, the wrong esthetic for our charming neighborhood, and will adversely affect the already atrocious traffic situation at Daniel & Hillcrest. For those of us living on the east side of SMU, you've already boxed us in to the point that the Daniel/Hillcrest intersection is our only way in & out of our neighborhood. On school mornings & afternoons it can take up to 15 minutes to get through that intersection. We absolutely cannot add more traffic to that area.

Snider Plaza is a neighborhood shopping center--the proposed building is too big for area pro-posed--would create too much traffic. Glass structure not appropriate for site--residents not looking for "Uptown" appearance. Height far exceeds approval by majority of residents. Yvonne Davis

We went through this already! A decade of sillyness!! Enough! That property should have never been zoned that way for the chase building! I feel sorry for those living close by. Lets hope our zoning board warns developer that they will not hear of a plan unless it conforms to what they demanded of Huddleston!

Let's leave the integrity if Snyder plaza as it is, downtown is for high rises.

Adam, you have commented several times on this petition, while signing in favor of the other petition. Have the changes of 99 feet been presented to the UP City Council or P &Z? I can only find the proposed 120 feet on the cities web page. Is the the 99 feet measured with or without the additional feet? In the cities video, Jim Strode comments that 120 feet is really 114 feet based on where they need to measure from. Is there an additional 6 feet that should be added to the 99 feet? What guarantee do we have that the developer will adhere to the changes listed in that petition?
What affiliation, if any do you have to Jim Strode? Current O zoning is 60 feet, even at 99 feet, this building is 40 feet above the current code. The Chase building is 72 feet, so the proposed 99 is 30 feet above the current structure. Why should O, P and MF zoning be changed when other construction projects in UP are complying with current codes, ie: HPUMC Biggers?

The current height of the building is tall enough! I question how the amount of added traffic will only be a negative impact on the Plaza and the neighborhood. As for the facade of the building, it would more pleasing to the eye for it to match the SMU and the Snider Plaza brick style. Glass will be an eye-sore! It might be 'cheaper' for the developer, but it will not compliment its environment.

Please consider how this will impact the Hillcrest corridor. If one is allowed to build even 100" high, you know the others will follow. Careful city planning can preserve our neighborhood and STILL benefit from growth and new construction. Do we want Hillcrest to become Uptown?
