I absolutely do not support the quarter system because it would contribute to more stress regarding my AP classes and more anxiety in general. I would be away from learning some classes for long enough amounts of time to where retaining the information will become very difficult for me. I know it also could potentially create a scenario where I must now complete an AP test without having fully finished the AP curriculum. As a student, I think this will be detrimental to my learning, and would not like to see it passed.

Please don’t disrupt the kids lives and add more stress to it. Semester system looks more suitable under these unprecedented times.

The change, even with its potentially unforeseen benefits is both undeniably radical and unnecessary.

Now is not the time to explore uncharted waters. With all the changes going on, we certainly don't need another one that provides no benefit while increasing the burden on our children.

School is about learning; not just checking a box to say material was taught. This is not a learning model that most children are ready for.

I have two students in BHS -- one a rising Senior. This will be so disruptive to my senior taking AP classes. I don't think the quarter system is viable. It's so unproven. Why not spend more time trying to figure out how to make synchronous DL work.

I completely agree with the points made in the petition. Radically decreasing time given to cover the material and introducing long breaks in between will adversely affect students ability to understand the material and retain the knowledge. This will have profound negative effect on all students, these who struggle in school and these who take APs and other high-level classes.

The students and staff are already under tremendous pressure to perform under very difficult conditions. The quarterly system would make it even more difficult. Additionally bring the kids back to school is a huge mistake! Families like ours who have cardiovascular, thyroid, and type 2 diabetes conditions compounded by a 60 year old father, a 55 year old mother will be completely exposed to COVID-19 transmission thru our son as a carrier from the school environment!!!!!!
