We are strongly opposed to the District's recommended Quarter System Schedule. It won't help students academically and mentally.

Quarterly schedule makes the teaching and learning difficult for both teacher and student. And it may finally affect the student scores. I am against the quarterly schedule. Thanks.

The makes an already difficult situation for our students that much more difficult. The students need consistency and stability at this time not extra stress of a new educational format.

I vote NO to the Quarter system schedule. It is NOT EQUITABLE for AT RISK students (summer learning loss for at risk kids is higher, and it will be exacerbated throughout the year by this proposed quarter based system). I support keeping the semester program and making other adjustments necessary to comply with Covid-19 requirements to keep kids, families and teachers safe.

The quarter system that is being proposed disrupts learning and reduces instructional time to a level that is unacceptable. How can we reduce instructional time when there is an expectation to finish a semester's worth of work in 9 weeks? It is beyond comprehension.

I strongly oppose this plan. This is a logistical nightmare and will even further broaden the learning gap we are all working so hard to close. Please take the informed and real-time feedback of your stakeholders (students, parents, and teachers) into account. Thank you.
Yet another useless plan decoupled with the reality of the trenches. Good luck with that!

I vote NO on this! I do not agree with the quarter system for our students!!! With the amount of stress and anxiety these students are having is enough!

I don't think the proposed quarter-system schedule makes sense. Teachers will be expected to cover a full semester of material in just 2 months and with fewer hours of instructional time per week than they used to have. In addition, there are too many competing courses to fit into the full semester 'skinny period' - if PE is at that time for 9th and 10th grade they can't take a music class if music is also in the skinny period. If music is in the quarter-long periods the kids only get that class for 4 months of the year, and for many students their arts classes are a huge mental-health boost. Similarly, if AP classes are put into the skinny period a kid could only take one and they wouldn't be an option for 9th and 10th graders.

With the new system of DL it is already very challenging for all the families to keep up (and teachers are struggling too). making another change for something nobody (at least here) never did will have life-long impact on our students and in no way will it benefit them.

The quarter system will place a burden on students at both ends of the spectrum. Students who wish to take AP's will suffer from the pace and students who need more support will also suffer. Also, it has not been demonstrated that this model has worked in other districts. Our district should not be spearding an unproven model in this environment.

Please reconsider rolling out the the Quarter System Model. This system will jeopardize the AP classes teaching and learning , will undermine the preparatory work that AP class teachers do to prepare their students for the exams.

This quarter system is irrational, only do harm to students, teachers and parents. Unsafe to students as it create tremendous stress, weaken their immune system which is bad for this pandemic time. This can not be implemented

This quarter system is too pushy, that put every students over their limit. It is extremely hard for AP students.

The proposed Quarter System Model appears detrimental to student learning because of the numerous disruptions and the aggressive pace at which classes will need to be taught. A remote learning option that establishes a consistent routine and regular pacing of course loads would be preferable.

The rotation looks reasonable and practical. The quarter system adds another layer of complication to the situation and do not see any benefit to all students.

This proposal does not benefit students, nor their teachers. The change is too drastic without much proof of its success. I'd prefer to stick with the usual structure to minimize the impact.

I strong agree with the reasons listed in the petition as to why the quarter system would be bad. I also did not see any rationale from the district for quarter system other than an outline of the proposed schedule.
