This is a controlled colony. Leave it alone or you will have bigger problems when you remove cats that have caretakers and have been spayed or neutered for cats that will continually breed and start looking for food wherever they can find it. Not to mention the cruelty to these poor innocent cats.

This is absolutely ridiculous, such a calculated and cowardice thing for SMU to do. Strays will continue to appear and without a TNR (trap/neuter/release) program they will continue to have unwanted litters and spread disease. SHAME ON SMU.

Please save the cats!! The people making this decision are not thinking this through. They are listening to people who know nothing about these cats and this program!

Cruel. Cruel. Cruel Under educated people trying to solve a small problem on an elite college campus. Sad. Sad. Sad.

You can do better, SMU. These cats have been cared for by animal lovers for the past several years. For you to take such drastic, uncalled for, and inhumane action against the innocent cats living on campus is truly disheartening. These cats have been spayed and neutered and removing them will only leave a vacuum for a new feral cat colony to move in. You will have a much bigger problem on your hands in the long run. Do the right thing, and treat the flea infestation using humans methods! There is no logical reason to trap and remove the cats, especially in the heat of summer when the most likely outcome is that you are sentencing these cats to a death sentence.

This is ridiculous! A well-managed feral cat colony being destroyed with no word?
This is totally inhumane. SMU is better than this and needs to take a stand to protect these lives.

Please don't hurt the cats! Please find them a safe place to live and be cared for if they must be removed from campus.

Barbarism. There are definitely other ways to control the flea problem, This is just the easy way out, and it's disgusting that it's the way being taken.
Please save the cats
