This is inhumane and unchristian. God made humans stewards of his creatures. He expects us to protect and care for them not abandon and abuse them.

These are well-managed colonies that should be allowed to live where they have been living. There are ways to deal with fleas other than eliminating the cats.

This is BARBARIC! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE SMU) YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED! And for the love of God, if you were going to trap cats, no one in their right mind would ever use TERMINEX who knows less than nothing about the ethical treatment of anything living. FOR SHAME!

Get rid of a well-managed, healthy colony and get ready to deal with stray and feral cats. Dallas is progressive in cat programs. Don't be foolish and regressive.

PLEASE do not kill the cats. Rescue them humanely, treat them for their fleas, and release them or send them to one of the responsible no-kill shelters in the area!

I love next to SMU, I have rescued and neutered at least 20 cats in the years I lived here. I am no sad to see these animals, most of whom are the progeny of cats abandoned by SMU students, abandoned, Shame on you, SMU. You are a terrible neighbor.

That a so called "Christian university (even thought you are Methodist) This is a very inhumane and non compassionate act. I am very disgusted with you and will heartily cheer for any adversary you have ina ny sports. You are doomed to be recreated as mice.;

Managed feral colonies are well recognized as one of the best ways to manage feral cat populations. When your campus has traditionally advertised the feral cat program ON YOUR WEBSITE, this action that violates much of the information we know about feral cat management is inappropriate.

You think you have a flea problem now! Get rid of the cats and you will really have one! Besides have you thought of taking to experts on feral cats (alley cats allies) rather than experts on killing?

TNR is a proven program. Please do not shut it down on these cats. People allow cats to become feral. We owe it to these cats to provide a humane and managed solution. Anything but TNR will simply result in an ongoing problem. Other cats will replace the void. TNR is proven to over time humanely reduce cat numbers. Also, some cats are strays that can be found homes and some are outdoor cats that already have homes. TNR is the best solution. Please keep what works.

I'd like to note that I have worked in several buildings where a flea infestation was created by workers going in and out of the building through the dirt and grass. No one suggested trapping those employees or shooting them between the eyes! These cats are not the primary reason why there are fleas in Dallas in the hot summer!
