Keep the Cats at SMU - Save the Feral Cat Program at Southern Methodist University

This is outrageous. How cruel.

If SMU thinks this mtrapping progra is a solution, boy are they wrong-headed. More cats will come.

It is our privilege and honor to show compassion and social responsibility to other communities. Shutting this program down is not who we are. This isn't the message we want to send. Stop this betrayal. It's an outrage.

Shame on the EOC! I thought SMU was a top leader in education. Not anymore. How about adding food grade diatomaceous earth the cat food to help prevent fleas. Whoever made the bloody phone call to Terminex should be removed from the Committee! Shame on Terminex for accepting the job of killing innocent cats. Perhaps they should have gone after the fleas instead. Perhaps everyone should cancel their business with Terminex.

A well managed colony is no risk to humans. If you remove them, more will move in due to the vacuum effect. Do the humane thing and let them live under the watchful eye of loving caretakers.

I am a graduate of SMU and I'm disgusted that my alma mater would do such a cruel and unnecessary thing.

I love seeing cats on campus.

This is unacceptable treatment of animals.

Let the group responsible for this managed cat colony take care of any issues and be part of any decisions affecting the colony. The university has not handled this well.

This is both unprofessional and inhumane. There are other ways to humanely take care of this problem.

please let the cats stay and work with the cat animal advocates, they know how to help you remove the flea problem and keep the cats. It's immoral to kill the cats.

The decision to remove the cats should have been communicated with the Feral Cat Group that was obviously recognized by SMU since they were given access to storage space on campus.

please rethink you policy. SMU is home for these cats.

If the cats are being well treated and have their shots, it is ihumane to trap them, who are they hurting?

YOU SHOULD BE TOTALLY ASHAMED! IM IN BOSTON! There is a firestorm in social media! You only have 45 cats for God's sake! You've cared for them for TEN. Years! Fleas don't just come from cats! You trap them in the 100 degree sun and use a company like Terminex? Are you serious! They are a horror show for anything living! There are very cheap ways to get rid of fleas! You are really shameful horrible people! These cats are therapy for many of your students! GROW UP!

Yes these cats are very important for the environment.
