12 years ago I moved to Central Illinois and missed great barbecue. I stumbled upon Smoque and immediately felt back at home in Texas. The first visit Barry spent almost 2 hours talking barbecue with me, it was definitely a much needed salve. It's obvious to me how much he cares about barbecue and his customers. I've since returned to Texas, but I stop at Smoque any time I get back up there and recommend it to everyone that goes to Chicago. It's truly an institution there!

Smoque bbq is a staple of our local business and dining community. They were the first destination barbecue place anyone in Chicago can remember for the last nearly 2 decades, though many took a rode on their coattails since. Having to fight for exclusive use of their own hard-won brand recognition and trademark after all they’ve accomplished is a grotesque slap-in-the-face. This is particularly so as it happening an industry so close to their own that they are often related. Something must be done to protect all they’ve worked for.

I really love Weber products, and have used them for years -- and Smoque BBQ was the first place I'd eaten when I first moved to Chicago. Wonderful BBQ! It is not only a neighborhood gem, but widely considered to be one of the best places for BBQ in Chicago! Using Smoque's name may damage their image, or their ability to spread great BBQ to other places

Weber, do the right thing, and change the name of your product. We don't Smoque to have to waste their money and time fighting you so we will help them fight this by going to any media outlet that will spread the word on how your company refused to listen to their plea.

These folks have put in long hours and worked very hard to earn their name. Weber has a "smoker", not smoked barbecue.

The SMOQUE name should not be taken by a company just because they are large and think they can bully the rightful owners to the name SMOQUE

Come on big business! This is a local business we know and love! Please think about your actions! This does not make we want to buy your grill!
Screw Weber
Shame on you, Weber. You should know better
