SMOQUE: Not Just Another Word for Smoke

You're a Chicagoland company and Smoque is a signature Chicago restaurant. You know better, Weber. You wouldn't pull something like this with a Lawry's or a Morton's.

The trademark infringement is appalling. Smoque BBQ should not have to pay a penny to preserve its right against the far larger Weber-Stephen Products Weber Smoque. We stop in at Smoque whenever we are in the area. It's a solid business.

Smoque is hands down the best BBQ joint in Chicago. Not only are the taste and quality on point, they have consistently contributed to the community. Their name is intrinsically connected to the reputation they built and I was outraged to hear that it was being infringed on by an outside force. Smoque has rightfully earned their name recognition across Chicago and the Midwest.

I'm totally in the Smoque camp. I think the grill name was a straight lift. That being said, according to what I just read you guys are fans of Weber products, and they are likewise fans of Smoque. It sounds to me like a licensing deal is in order. If you can properly smoke your meat menu in the product, you can endorse it in good faith while also getting paid. p.s. I've been an absolutely sold customer of Smoque since a few weeks after you opened. (I lived by Montrose and Spaulding at the time) Viva Smoque!

I love my Weber Grill, and even enjoy their restaurants, but they should not be allowed to bully the amazing Smoque restaurant and be allowed to use their trademarked name.
