For the latest updates, please LIKE our community facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/smithkincaidtrafficlight Thank you to the Burnaby Now and the Burnaby Newsleader for reporting on our concerns. Thanks to the City of Burnaby for scheduling Sept 2 for us to present to the Traffic and Safety Committee. We were hopeful that we could have the light installed before the children get back to school however we understand that is tne next meeting of this committee. We look forward to working collaboratively to acheive the installation of a traffic light at Smith and Kincaid.

Please join me for coffee at the El Inka Latin Restaurant (3826 Sunset Street) at 11 am on Friday July 4. The Burnaby News Leader will hear our concerns at 11 am and the Burnaby Now will interview us at 12 pm. This is a great opportunity to share our safety concerns as one unified voice. Hope you can make it tomorrow. Please text me at 778.837.3074 or [email protected] if you can make it so I have some idea how many are coming. Regards, Jim

I have heard horrible things about this street corner. Please install street lights there!

I live in Newfoundland now but grew up living with my parents in this neighbourhood. A light is BADLY needed. This intersection is heavily travelled and there is always traffic mayhem in the region, particularly at busy times. A light would improve the flow of traffic and safety in the area.

My son goes to Cascade Heights Elementary and walks to / from school everyday. I know how dangerous and hard to cross that 4 way top. Some drivers don't even noticed pedestrians who is crossing.

I totally agree with this petition. My children attend Cascade Heights School and I am very reluctant to have them walk to school because of this intersection and drive them instead. Traffic lights here would benefit everyone. Every life is precious, take a moment to really ponder this.

This is one of the most dangerous intersection. I wait at the intersection for my bus every morning and have noticed a signifcant increase in traffic volume over the years. Cars do not stop at the stop sign. People use this route to avoid congestions in major routes ie: Boundary, Canada Way, Willingdon, and Gilmore. This intersection is also very dangerous during rainy days and at night as it has poor lighting.
